Sacred Heart Convent School Celebrates Bard’s Birthday and English Language Day.
Ludhiana,24 April (Daljeet Vicky) The Birthday of the Bard- William Shakespeare and English Language Day were celebrated at Sacred Heart Convent School, Sec-39,Urban Estate Ludhiana on 23rd April. Students were acquainted with the significance of this eventful day and about the history, culture and achievements associated with English Language.
The students put more light on the biography and achievements of The ‘Bard of Avon’ who is regarded as one of the greatest dramatists, who left an indelible impact on English language with his insurmountable contribution to the field of literature, playing the key role in popularizing the language. Shine, Amandeep Singh, Manleen Kaur, Pratibha, Khushdeep Kaur, Roshan of class XI demonstrated excerpts from the dramas of Shakespeare. Kinjal , Ipshiita, Bhujasvi and Akshnoor spoke about the facts related to the life of Shakespeare. The school Principal Rev. Sr. Crispin Maria appreciated the students and the efforts of Witty Whitman Club of the school and expressed that the plays and poems of Shakespeare not only give us pleasure but we get inspiration from them because of their evergreen themes and ideas.
The live programme was thoroughly enjoyed. The event concluded with distribution of chocolates to the participants in honour of Birthday William Shakespeare, the great English dramatist and poet.
