Sacred Heart Convent School, Celebrated ‘World Earth Day’

Ludhiana,22 April (Daljeet vicky) Sacred Heart Convent School, Sec-39, Ludhiana commemorated World Earth Day with a special celebration centered around the theme "Planet vs. Plastics." The event aimed to raise awareness about the urgent need to address plastic pollution and promote sustainable practices for the preservation of our planet. The event commenced with a thought-provoking assembly led by Principal Rev.Sr.Crispin Maria who emphasized the importance of collective action in combating plastic pollution and protecting our environment.
The Eco Club of the school organised a series of engaging and informative activities to mark World Earth Day. They emphasised on the impact of plastic waste on marine life, ecosystems, and human health, as well as the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling plastics. Students took pledge to plant more in their surroundings to save mother Earth.
As part of the celebration, students showcased their creativity through poster competitions, and eco-friendly craft activities using recycled materials.
Students presented a Choreography and Power Point Presentation on the conservation of all types of natural resources and on the boycott of Plastic material. More emphasis was put on the three principles 'Reduce', 'Reuse' and 'Recycle'. Students were inspired to take action and make positive changes in their daily lives to reduce their plastic footprint and protect the environment.
The secretary of Eco club expressed her gratitude to everyone who participated in the World Earth Day celebration, emphasizing the importance of collective efforts in safeguarding our planet for future generations.


The Programme concluded with a vote of thanks paying special gratitude to the school Principal and the Eco Club members for the celebration of such an important event in the school.
