Chandigarh : The Last Ride of Sidhu Moosewala changed the political scenario in Punjab. The fatal day of 29 May 2022, when the young singer, 28, was mercilessly gunned down in his hometown by unidentified shooters, marks a black day for Punjabis all across the globe. A pall of gloom descended upon his family, fans, and followers. What led to the ambush raised many questions and fingers. However, the ugly truth that stares us in the eyeballs is that the parents of the slain singer still cry for justice.

Shubhdeep Singh, aka Moosewala, born in 1993, set foot in the Punjabi music industry by launching two tracks, 'License' and 'G Wagon' in 2017, and there was no looking back for him. His songs depicted his stand through satire. He was not known for mincing his words. His songs reflected the rebellious and undaunting spirit that he stood for unabashedly. Was it this aggression that killed Moosewala?

Sidhu forayed into the political arena by joining the Congress party but lost during the Punjab elections. But little did he know that his fan base would reach a different mark after his death.

His friends and foes mourned his cold-blooded murder. A Canadain-based gangster, part of the Lawrence Bishnoi group, took responsibility for the ambush.

The chase for the notorious gangster thus began with the Punjab government finally arresting him. The perpetrator of the crime now rests behind the bar in a high-security jail in Bhatinda. But a recent interview with a news channel unearthed the wounds. The Punjab government came under scrutiny as many leaders called the Punjab jails office of the gangsters.

Although the shooters involved in the crime have either been killed by the police, among themselves or mysteriously, the family of Sidhu awaits justice for their star son, who now has become a star among the heavenly bodies.
