Khangura returns to Congress after two years
CHANDIGARH, May 8: Senior Congress leader and former party MLA from Qila Raipur, Jasbir Singh ‘Jassi’ Khangura today returned to Congress after about two years.Khangura was inducted into the party by the Congress general secretary in charge for Punjab Devinder Yadav at a function at the Punjab Congress Bhawan here today.
Khangura, a prominent leader and a former NRI from UK, had left the Congress in 2022 and joined the Aam Aadmi Party. However, he resigned from the AAP sometime ago to return to the Congress.Welcoming Khangura back into the party, Yadav said, not only will his rejoining the Congress strengthen the party in Ludhiana but also in the entire state. He pointed out, Khangura is known for his fierce and firebrand oratorical skills and is also quite popular among the NRI community.
Speaking on the occasion, Khangura expressed his gratitude to the party president Mallikarjun Kharge, former president Rahul Gandhi, general secretary organization KC Venugopal, Devinder Yadav, PCC president Amarinder Singh Raja Warring and the CLP leader Partap Singh Bajwa for their support.He assured that whatever role the party offers him, he will do it with full dedication and integrity as he has always done. He said, the Congress party alone can safeguard and strengthen the unity, integrity, democracy and constitution of the country.
